Social Media Reality

Conceptual 3D illustrations using visual metaphors to simply sum up social apps and play on the way in which they are used.

The idea for the project of Social Media Reality came from purely observing the way in which people are using social apps and websites, which as everyone is aware has become huge over the past few years in terms of how people connect, interact and share content online and the amount of time that people spend per day using these has increased drastically. However what I wanted to bring to light was playing on the way in which people actually use them and the way in which they interact with them, for example you log onto Facebook and it's basically like watching people lives through the content they post, you find out someone has moved to a new city or got engaged before you even see them in person hence the Facebook branded viewing scope to visually represent this idea of 'watching'.

I challenged myself to come up with a visual solution of how I could represent each social platforms user interaction in the most simplistic way that people could relate to and find conceptually amusing at the same time. Imagining Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram as if they were objects, being critical and humorous, absorbing the essence of each media and passing these characteristics to each object chosen to represent them.
